The Old Street ....

The old street; we first met

The street where:
    We laughed, we fought
Who stands by; we never thought
Winter night outings, long hours we waited
        Together faced hardships; got educated
We first exchanged looks, we exchanged roses
    Reluctantly though; we exchanged proposes
       “___________________________________
        ____________________________________”
We kissed, we dreamt of intimacy for life
You promised me; of being my partner & wife

That same old street; “I” passed today

At the street:
Smiles were similar but faces were missing
Fights were intense but friends were missing
Winters were low but outings were missing
Waits were long but care was missing
Eyes were bright but looks (love) were missing
Roses were red but passion was missing
Kisses prevailed but wetness was missing
Intimacy felt high but commitment was missing

All devastated and sad; ‘I’ Introspected

Street still same, was “YOU” who is missing
Relaxed was I, as woke of my sleep
Found all true; the dream was missing
Lying in my bed; a whisper in my ear
Your heart in you; is what is missing
Remembered I the missed stanza; had my answer
“We loved so much, we exchanged heart
Madly we became; two pieces of same the part”
“Death of oneness”, was what was missing

You in me kept the love; still so protected
